ARTICLE 32- EQUIPMENT RESPONSIBILITY
Section 1. The Employer shall be solely responsible for the mechanical condition of its vehicles, and no driver shall be required to perform any mechanical work on any of the Employer’s vehicles. The driver is responsible for maintaining all fluid levels in the vehicle, except when being serviced at the Employer’s facility
Section 2. Each driver shall be responsible for the cleanliness of his taxicab, both exterior and interior, but he is not required to personally wash or polish the exterior.
Section 3. The driver shall not be responsible for the repair or changing of any tire within the Greater Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, including North Las Vegas and Henderson. If a tire is to be changed, a spare tire and the necessary tools shall be made available to the driver. The driver shall be responsible for the spare tire and tools while in his possession.
Section 4. Each driver shall check tires, lights, horn, brakes, seats, seat belts, and medallion, and make an inspection of the interior and exterior of the cab to determine any previous unreported damages or accident evidence to the interior or exterior of the vehicle; any irregularities or inadequacies must be immediately reported to the Employer, or the driver shall be deemed responsible. If a vehicle is in unsafe mechanical condition, the employee may not take it into service. If the vehicle becomes unsafe during his shift, the driver must immediately notify the dispatcher and proceed under the direction of the driver supervisor or other management official
Section 1. The Employers will establish a procedure for providing each driver a written receipt for the book turned in by the driver In accordance with the procedure established, each driver will turn in his book at the end of his shift to the person and at the location designated by the Employers. At that time, the driver’s book will be counted. Once the count is complete, the driver will be given a written receipt for all monies and for all charges in lieu of cash monies turned in .
