Cabbie Crimes

We all know that crimes against cabbies are on the rise and every day/night we have to be safe out there and this is just a plain and simple fact. Over the course of a few years we have had several murders and flat out attacks where the perps have not been caught and in some they are. The CAMERA issue is HUGE on the minds of all concerned right now and this need to be resolved. We will post he facts as they happen and as we learn of them so stay tuned...ALSO.....

He was trying to stop a guy from shooting a bartender.

Lester worked for the Whittlesea cab co.

Abera Yerga Asmamaw, 39, was found strangled in his cab near the Strip on Aug. 11, 2003.

Mr. Asmamaw had tried to quit the taxi industry because he had had his throat cut while driving.

His death helped to fire the furor over cameras in the cabs. The cameras in the cabs were dropped.

Pairoj Chitprasart.

Died just before 3 am on Aug. 24, 2004 of burns received in an attempted robbery that happened on Friday, August 20, 2004. Mr. Chitprasart was a nellis driver. He lived four days after the attemped robbery. Perhaps he held on to see if our healthy happy and well paid government officials would do something to help the drivers. While the other big city's already have shields, the geniuses here who are able to make it happen are still doing studies and talking, talking talking.
