July 14, 05........The Strategic Alliance between the USW & ITPEU have begun strucuturing the Rapid Response Team. Those wishing to receive e-mails on Info Alerts, Action calls or Feedback Reports can get on this team by requesting the info be sent to your e-mail address. As of last night (7/13/05, approximately 22 drivers have asked that they too receive information. In addition to local issues, there will also be national issues. Rapid Response Info has been sent to those wanting to be part of this effort on Social Security and CAFTA.

The team will also be working on developing an action call on the camera issue.

June 29th, 05.....I have created a DONATIONS page to thank all of those that have helped this website. We have had a few more people donate and I really want to thanks them for their help. We do a lot of good stuff on this website and we want to keep it going and you guys are comming thru as usual.

Yesterday at the TA meeting the people at YCS lost their battle on the trip charge issue. Greg Bambic informed me that it was another WIN for the drivers. WAY TO GO guys it shows you that together we can make a difference. Dam I like being a cabbie while all of this is goin on...makes me feel like we are a part of something as I'm sure it does you also. I wish the likes of Bear and Dawg were here to bask in the changes also...but I'm sure they are here in spirit.

Don't forget the meeting on the 11th, this is the one that deals with more medallions, and the usual bla, bla, bla....keep it up boys.

June, 26th,05.....I am going to be contacting other businesses to see if they would like to put some printable coupons up here so we can just print them out. (much quicker then waiting for a magazine once a month)

We need to be there at the July 11th TA meeting to spaek out on the camera issue, things to be discussed are SOUND, MORE MEDALLIONS ETC. So show up and at least we will show them we are still united in our cause no matter what that cause is.

June, 19th, 05.....So here we are, another day in paradise. I heard from the Union Rep in Pitt. and his response is going to be posted in the messageboard. I would also like to thanks all that are donating a bit here and there because every little bit helps believe me. We use the cash for paying for the webspace, supplies for our printers and other little things. So again thanks a ton and I hope the link above is fixed.

We dont know where the TT bar thing is going to end up but I do know that passes are in effect for all clubs. Jags is still paying regular way and they are busier then shit and I love it. All the other nuddie places are also paying regular since they are not effected by the law they are using. The next TA meeting is comming up soon and we need to a big show of unity once again, NO NEW MEDALLIONS and many other agenda items need to be addressed. Stay tuned...

June 17th, 2005....Well I am still waiting to hear for Bobby Mac about the Union issues but no email as of 11AM on Friday. We have issues with the union in more then 1 way but for the Union President Mr Hussien cannot even kick in 5 bucks toward a drivers problems in a "pass the hat" situation. Sometimes what people don't do speaks volumes on how they really feel. Kinda like the guy who walks by you (and you know him) and you say "hi" but he don't. Now take out the "he did'nt hear me BS and you get to the root of what I am saying. The PDA is not taking money away from the UNIONS what so ever. The unions need to have a membership drive to gain more power but they are not allowed to spend any money on it...man how does that work. I guess all the dues goes into a big pot for some reason..we just dont know what that reason is.

June, 15, 05....The PDA meeting was last night and it was a good meeting, funny things I picked up in the meeting are going to be posted on the messageboard. The bill AB-505 has been VETOED. Yes it's true we won this battle but the war is only begun, we need you drivers to pass the word about vegascabbie.net and about the unions. There is strength in numbers and we need to have a coomon, simple place to meet and vegascabbie.net is a prime place to do that.

The issue on the cameras is going to be discussed over the next 60 days, the legislature sent it back to the TA because of the sound issue. So for the next 60 days AGAIN we will sit in limbo not knowing the fate of the camera issue, talk about feet dragging.

And now with the TT bar issue, well again they are paying but I cannot understand how they can just pull this law out from under the bed, enforce it, and then choose to shove it under the bed again. Is not a law a law and should be enforced at all times..kinda like saying well the speed limit is 55 today becasue we are enforcing it, but not tomorrw because were not. Is it not still a law or is it only a law when we decide to enforce it...boy no wonder Don King say ONLY IN AMERICA. We need to change this law 100% and just make it legal to recieve gratuies period from anybody, anytime, anywhere.

June, 12th, 2005....This just in from a very reliable source...the TA has been ordered to re evaluate the camera law as it was written and the will be NO sound in the cabs it was determined to be bias and unfair. So now the TA has 60 days to get the law re written without all the sound and a lot of other very improtant issues reguarding when, where and how the information stored on these devices can be used...It not need be a tool for the owners to fire people since this is not what the original intention was in the first place.

Man does it not feel good to have something to wake up for in the morning..

June 11,2005.....Well ladies and gents it seems as though we have won our fight to appeal this AB-505 bill that some chump slipped into the legislature last second on behalf of the small businesses he supposedly was protecting. He stated due to the pratice of kickbacks that other small businesses were being unfairly treated at a disadvantage and that this was unfair. Well to you my friend this was and IS not unfair but just the way this town was not only built but what it was built on 40 years ago. This town would be nowhere if it was not for the kickback...guess this happend before you were born....

Together we won the battle but not the war....we have a lot of little fights to win before we make a dent for the way we have been abused for the last 20 years. 3 cheers for all of us that took the time and had the guts to do so...Hip HIp hooray, HIP, HIP, HORRAY....wow wasnt this fun.....

June 10th. 2005....Well ladies and gents the fan has been hit by shit once again. All the TT bars are now paying 0.00 and it has nothing to do with the bill on Gov. Guinns desk. It has to do with an old obscure liquor license law that states that as a condition of their license they cannot pay anyone to bring people to their establishment. It is the alcohol license board statute # 8.20.297 and at 8PM tonight they gave all warning tickets to all the strip clubs who serve the stuff. Now I do not know how this will effect the fully nude places but for right now we are screwed, blued and tatooed. Now they have tried using this statute before and it does go away, but if Gov. Guinn does not veto this bill on his desk we will be screwed till the cows come home.

We need to keep up the pressure and unite behind this and show them that this does not scare us...they will be losing a lot more $$$ then we will and we can still make cash. Now of course we all know there must be a silver lining to all of this and this is the way I see it. All the doormen are screwed, the limos guys are screwed and we can still deal with the passes. As of right now Club P ia accepting ANY passes to anywhere and honoring them for FREE admission but I believe this is only because they will be feeling the pinch very, very soon.

6.1.05.....Whewww another month has come and gone and are YOU ready for the HEAT..? Remember to drink lots of water and stay away from the dam soda's they make ya bloat in the summer. We do have the messageboard secured and redone, we are deleting a lot of older posts to keep the board slim and trim if you will. We have taken all the precautions we can possibly do and it wont be long but a new messageboard will come about. But lets remember that a little 5 buck donation wont kill you and it will make this website a lot better to have up and running.

5-24-05.........I watched this morning as one driver after another got up and explained their frustrations to the ta. The ta was very receptive to what they were hearing. So many drivers complained about the trip charge increase that ycs representatives got up and said they would rescind the trip charge increase. Congratulations to the drivers for standing up for themselves. This is what can happen if the drivers continue to express themselves where it matters. I was so proud of all of them for saying their piece from the driver who put a pair of teeth in a fifty dollar bill and passed it around to the ta members to the driver who was shaking with anger and said his piece and left saying he had to return to work.Talley

5.23.05.....I believe tomorrow is the ta meeting. Check with someone and if it is then try to make it to the meeting. We have to participate in this process. It is our jobs and our money that they will be talking about and trying to find ways to hand over to the company owners.

There should be a union meeting tomorrow night at 6 pm at 1800 industrial. Come and ask your questions. I am sorry about the loss of a week of postings but we are coming of age if someone has to follow us around and attack the forum on the night before the ta and union meetings. That means someone is very worried about the forum spreading info to the drivers.

5.20.05.....So YCS wants you to go support the rate increase...? Go to the messageboard to see more. I recieved a flier last night that to ME seems like they want you to so support this matter. Well after further investigation I found out MORE on the subject, be sure to find out more. Has anyone ever got a fliers saying to go to the TA meetings and fight for NO MORE CABS ON THE ROAD..? Just wondering because I have never recieved 1. I believe in supporting all that is good for the drivers but man ow man it sure is hard to decide what is actually GOOD for us.

On another note I hear YCS is having their big picnic in the next week or so. Well heard a lot of drivers are staying away from it due to the 89 million this year they are getting ripped off for with the new 1.50 trip charge...Now this is just what I hear and is as always "an opinion" Some say Union's fault, Some say YCS fault..well gee where were the fliers for the Union vote on this prior to it happening...HMM guess I did'nt get mine that day, I must of been OFF. 8-) Lets just look at the whole picture and get something done after all we are only getting SCREWED.

5.18.05.....Please excuse when Jim update's I'm trying to teach him the ways of the force but we all know about old dogs..!! I just recieved these robbery notices from the PDA (please Join) and I wanted to get them up to you before but got tied up on my days off. We really need to demand that the Union get their asses in gear and participate in this website and the organization of what us drivers need to get done..If any of you union memebers know why Mr Hussien has not been in contact with us please LET US KNOW as to why.? 5.16.05.....OK we are backup and running, we used a backup from a few weeks ago so we may be a bit behind but just re-post any important messages. Sorry for any issues this caused (I doubt we all lost any sleep) but we are good to go. As for the persons or persons who did this, well nice try Dick Tracey but you will have to do a lot better then that, and keep up the spirit of "working together" in mind becuse you are the reason that cabbies do not ever seem to come together and get the good working conditions we deserve. But keep in mind that sooner or later.

5.16.05.....Well it seems we are having some sort of an issue with the message board. Somehow we will get it fixed but we will have to rely on the backups to get it going. We feel it is the work of a disgruntled person who for some reason feels threatned by our website. But it's pretty simple to track the IP'S that come in here so they will be found out and exposed you can bet on it. But in the meantime please keep stopping by and we will get it back up to par...

5.8.5.....So does this kind of crap only happen to me or WHAT I swear...last night I'm sitting at the Riveria about 12:30 or so when these 5 guys come out (no biggie to me I'm not on the nut) So I see this Valet guy start talking to them (gee I wonder what they are talking about I thought to myself) So now this valet schmuck comes running towards the cabs after trying his cell phone a few times. He goes to the cab in front of me to no avail, then sticks his head in my cab and say and I quote "hey can you get 5 in here? I says Ya why he says " I got 5 going to a stip club can we do a deal?" I say Ya sure. So he runs inside to grab the 5 I get out of the cab and go to the guy in front of me and tell him what's goin on. I told him I'll take 3 you take 2 and we ain't paying this guy a dime. So out come the guys they get in 3 in mine 2 in his (we split the $$ evenly by the way) And the thief at the Riveria will not only get reportd but he is not getting any kick back either.

Now I will tell you guys this right now..unless YOU, YES YOU DAMMIT decide to take some action against these azzholio's the next time you see a stip club is at you or your friend's bachelor party. So if you decide not to complain and sit on your BUTT then you only making $150.0 a night will be a good night for you. These thiefs are destroying our income which in turn not only effect you but your families, your kids education and your families overall well being, But on the other hand if this mean nothing to you then so be it. 5.3.5.....OK can we all agree here that the monorail is a piece of doggie crap..!!!! 650 million dollars worth of junk on a rail for god's sake. For the 2nd day in a row the "communications" between the stations has failed causing it to go into a shutdown mode for all to be inconvienienced AGAIN. This project was skimmed off soooo much that over time is a all together a sad state of affairs. But after all what do you have to lose..NOTHING since your initial investment is guaranteed my public bonds to the point that if it does not make a profit within a certain pre determined amount of time then you get your money back....hmm SWEET deal because then it will become the taxpayers red herring....how nice of you.

But on the other hand these kind of issues sure do make the cabbies look good.

5.2.05 DC'S review of the new show @ Wynn called Le Reve. Well we all know the name of the original hotel was going to Be Le Reve so I found it funny that the show was to be named the same. Anyway the show itself is a cirque.est sort of show done by Dragone who has directed shows such as O and Mystere. Needless to say this show is very, very similar to all of them. I seem to think it's all the leftover thoughts in Dragone's head from all the other show’s he has done. Overall I would rate it about a 6 (10 being best). It's a water themed show and there are some funny parts as in all Dragone's shows but the best part has to be the water. Water works in the desert and this much smaller version of the Bellagio's O pool is very, very similar. The stage just does amazing things and this is what I wonder about and ask, "How’d they do that". Overall I would give it a thumbs up, the seating is comfortable and there is not a bad seat in the house (as well there shouldn’t be) But the biggest thing I noticed is that it was NOT sold out and you would think that on the 4th day, the 4th show this would be a HOT ticket but like the Wynn Hotel itself you can still get a room there tonight and for this weekend, I checked since I had heard rumors about the Hotel being sold out for the 1st year DIDNT THINK SO.

So their ya have it and take it for what it is....a cabbie's point of view...

4.30.05.....Now for all you guys who get to know things I would like to have you shoot me an email so I can post things like the FREE TICKETS to Le Reve, FREE lunches or dinners. I mean after all this website is up to date every time I get a chance and to MISS OUT on any of the FREE stuff is not a good feeling. So if you get any good INFO shoot me an email so I can post it and get it out to the drivers.

Another thing is that we have gone over 1000 hits in less then 3 weeks and that it awsome on your part. Obviously we are doing something right so keep on clicken. As we get more info on the PDA and the UNION we will of course be posting it. I am waiting on responses from the Union for a "opening statement" to their page and the PDA is pretty simple with their article in this months TS. 4.28.05.....As we all know the Wynn mega resort opened it's doors tonight with what was to me very little fan fare. There are 2 cab stands 1 off the Blvd. and the other off of Sands so have fun. After all the build up and anticipation (and I even called the PR people for Whyne resort and they said YES to fireworks...well not even a dam firecracker but ow the cops were getting their overtime pay and we were getting screwed on traffic lights and pedestrians. Anyway I fould out that if you want to go see the show Le Reve (remember that was supposed to be the original name of the Hotel) you can call 770-7720 and ask for the box office and they will set you up with 2 FREE tickets to see the show either this sat or sun. Hey why not take advantage of what we can, after all we will be servicing this hotel for the next 50 years.

4.26.05.....At the TA meeting today it was decided that NO geo medallions will be turned into regular medallions. Along with a WAIT AND SEE attitude on the cameras for most of the companies, YCS and Whittlesea will have all of them installed soon. I personally don't know how many drivers showed up since I was not able to make the TA meeting today (not feeling up to par after the surgery yet) but as soon as I get a report I will post it. But I thanks Tally for the info that I do have. Pso your comments on the messageboard if ya have 1. OK this just in from Greg B. Today’s T.A. Meeting, the $3.20 drop that had a temporary fuel charge of $0.20 was made permanent today. The $1.80 per mile that would change $.20 cents every 1/9 mile was changed to $2.00 per mile that changes $0.25 cents every 1/8 of a mile. I think it will mean an extra $1.00 a trip, I think my average trip is $10.00 with this new change I think these new trips will be $11.00 x 25 trips will equal $25.00 a day extra minus 50% of the book minus taxes should equal $10.00 a day times 20 shifts equals $200.00 a month times 50 weeks equal $2,400.00 additional a year to every driver driving a cab in Las Vegas.

4.25.05....I would like to announce the New PDA page to this website. Of course we know litle of the PDA and tat is why I felt it neede to be exposed on this website since we are a site for the drivers well being. Mr Greg Bambic (with a C) is the president and curator of the newley refomed PDA and it has under gone a few chanes for the better if I may say so up front. So click on the link to the left and check out from time to time what the PDA has to say and what they have to offer you as a driver here in Vegas. You will also be able to download and print out the PDA membership form along with any other forms of applications the PDA gets to me to get into your hands.
